Why Journal Club
The quantity of research papers published worldwide is rising at a very rapid pace. As a result, thoughts, ideas, and beliefs have rapidly changed. Consequently, it is essential for academics, researchers, and students to stay up to date with the abundance of available knowledge. The Journal Club offers a place to stay current on literature and a chance to pick up skills for analyzing journal articles critically. Journal clubs in fundamental or applied research are typically centered around a specific topic.
What is Journal Club?
A journal club is an association of people who get together on a regular basis to read, comprehend, and assess recent papers and articles that have been published in scholarly journals.
Aim of Journal Club
To give its members access to current research literature, serve as a platform for learning and teaching about more recent ideas and methods, and emphasize the value of incorporating reliable research findings into daily work.

Role and Responsibilities of Journal Club
- Journal club will establish "General Rules" (such as time allotment and acceptable question kinds).
- Journal club will determine the department's Journal Club's focus areas.
- Journal club will create a timetable and provide slots for the designated thrust regions.
- Students engaged in the designated thrust areas will be asked to submit a paper or article for listing.
- Journal club will assign some marks under Internal Assessment are determined by the Journal Club presenter's performance.
- The Journal Club will arrange at least five presentations per student (PG Second year) and two presentations (UG final year) during a semester.
- The coordinator of R & D and IPR committee will prepare a report of the activities carried out over the semester, along with an accurate record of the Journal Club's activities.
- The Journal Club should circulate advance notice of the date and time of the presentation.
Guidelines for Student Presenter
- The title of the research article chosen by the journal club, along with the name and address of the author(s), will be the theme of the presentation.
- A brief summary of the article to be given, no more than 500 words, must be distributed beforehand.
- The speaker will go over every facet of the research piece, emphasizing the methodology and results, discussion and conclusion.
- The presenter will attempt to formulate a conclusion in his or her own terms that will spark discussion among the attendees.
- There are three different presentation modes: Power Point, OHP, and Black Board.
